Privacy Notice

This notice explains how UnveilJoy uses personal information when you create, pay for, send or open a reveal. Last updated: 18 September 2026.

1. Who is responsible for your information

UnveilJoy is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us at unveiljoy@outlook.com.

2. Information we may process

  • Reveal content: the message, occasion, design choices and other content you enter.
  • Payment and transaction information: Stripe Checkout session and payment-status information, transaction identifiers and related order details. Stripe processes your card details directly.
  • Technical information: information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, browser/device information and request logs processed by our hosting and security providers.
  • Reveal activity: the number of times a paid reveal is opened and the most recent open time.
  • Support information: information you provide when you contact us for help.

3. Why we use it

  • to create, host and deliver your paid digital reveal;
  • to process and verify payments;
  • to maintain security, prevent abuse and diagnose technical problems;
  • to provide customer support and handle disputes or refund requests;
  • to meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

4. Lawful bases

We generally process information because it is necessary to perform our contract with the purchaser, because we have legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, or because we must comply with legal obligations. Where the law requires consent, we will ask for it separately.

5. Sensitive information in reveal messages

A reveal may contain information that is personal or sensitive, for example pregnancy or health-related news. Only include information you are entitled to share. If you choose to include sensitive information about yourself, you are asking us to process it solely so we can create and deliver the reveal.

6. Who we share information with

We use service providers to operate UnveilJoy, including Stripe for payment processing and Cloudflare for hosting, database, security and network delivery. We may also use content-delivery providers to serve technical website libraries. These providers process information under their own terms and/or our service arrangements.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a legitimate sale or reorganisation of the business.

7. International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, appropriate legal safeguards are used for international transfers.

8. How long we keep information

Paid reveal content may be retained so the share link continues to work. We retain transaction and support records for as long as reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute purposes. Technical logs are retained according to our operational and service-provider settings. You can ask us to delete a reveal, subject to legal or security reasons that may require us to retain limited records.

9. Browser storage, cookies and advertising measurement

UnveilJoy uses browser session storage to keep a pending reveal available while you leave the site for Stripe Checkout and return after payment. Stripe and infrastructure providers may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for payment, security or service operation.

If you choose Accept analytics & ads, UnveilJoy also loads the Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms) to measure page visits and advertising performance. The Meta Pixel is not loaded before you consent. You can reject this non-essential tracking and still use UnveilJoy.

You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer.

10. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, and to receive certain information in a portable format.

To exercise a privacy right, contact unveiljoy@outlook.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

11. Security

We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so avoid putting information in a reveal that does not need to be there.

12. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the service, law or our providers change. The latest version will be published on this page.
